Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
As discussed with @dalvare1 it would be beneficial to replace the thermal paste of the nodes, specially the xeon08 which is currently running the performance tests and had reached more than 90 C while running the benchmarks. We can measure the effect on the thermal paste by watching the effect on the temperature while running the tests.
If the results are good, we can consider replacing the paste of other nodes too. Could you share the specific model you got David?
To get a baseline, we should repeat a few times the benchmarks with the current configuration, as we only have one measurement with 2.6 GHz. CC @anavarr1
I will come to replace a DIMM module next tuesday, so maybe we can do the paste replacement that day too.
The thermal paste I ordered is Arctic MX-4
Replaced in xeon06, here are some pictures of the old paste:
The temperature seems to be stable around 75-77 C, less than before that reached 81 C.
